Default what do you need to know to develop apps?

I dont have any kind of programing experience, none whatsoever. all i have is a really good idea for an iphone app (a game, actually). so i am basically starting from scratch.

i am willing to learn and do whatever i need to to make this possible. i want to start off by making simple apps, then working my way up until i can make my game.

the problem is that i dont know where to start. what programing languages should i take up? any sites, books, anything that i can read to learn what i need to would be helpful.

i know that this isnt impossible and im willing to give this a shot.
thanks!
