Default Can you teach yourself use the SDK?

Hey guys ... I have some experience in programming. I have taken some classes in college on programming but we used visual basic. I'm looking into making an app not to distribute but just as a sort of hobby or something to do when I have time. Is it something that I could teach myself to do? Is it similar to VB? Are their any books or literature, websites about programming?

Yeah I hope so. I mean from what they said it doesn't look hard. The interface making part looks very easy to use ... much easier than VB. It's just the programming portion that I think would be the most difficult part to learn.

Using the SDk is easy as anything. Xcode really makes things simple.

SDK beta currently lacks the interface builder for iPhone so you have to do it the hard way - promised before release of FW2.0.

Well, I've signed up as a developer, and Apple sent me the email with the SDK download link in it, however,t h link was broken; Safari states that it can't find the server 'connect.apple.com'. I sent the Developer Connection an email, but they won't reply until Monday. Argh!!

Yeah I've had the same problem when accessing the email a second time. If you go to the apple website and click on the homepage to donwload the free sdk it will ask you to log in. Put your account info in and it should bring you to the download page. My problem is when I get to the page it says wait a few minutes and refresh ... I never get the download starting. Ive tried a lot but I still get the processing your request, wait a few and refresh message. Very frustrating.

I've heard about this issue as well... Apple's just getting pounded. I tried what you recommend, but I just keep getting thanked for registering as an iPhone Developer and told that an email has been sent to me.
