Hi!

I have a 08 X5 and iphone 3G with 2.2 software.
Everything works fine except the hands free voice quality. During the conversations my voice fades away for seconds and that makes impossible to communicate.
With the old iphone or almost any Nokia, voice quality is just perfect, so it’s not the car I think!
Do you have any idea what is the solution for this?
Thanks:
Peter

Hi Peter,
When I first attempted to use 1st generation iPhone I had the same problem (06' 750li). I temporarily disabled the wifi and the communication improved. After a few weeks passed, I enabled the wifi and the "garble" during the initial conversation was gone. I now have the 3G iPhone and have not experienced this issue. Not certain what happened.

I suggest you disable the wifi, re-sync the phone to the X5, and leave the wifi disabled for a couple days while driving. Good Luck!

Do you mean the passkey of the bluetooth module in your car? If so, you should have an information card that came with your owner's manual that has it. If not, you can find it on the module yourself in the cargo area (I have an X3 also). I am not close to my car right now, but you can pop out the side above and behind the left rear wheel well - there's a leather pull tab to make it easy, IIRC, and the module is mounted inside. Look for a 4-digit number labeled "PK" or something like that on the module with the bluetooth symbol on it.

Hi Everyone,

I am newly registered and just bought my 1st BMW. I am a long time Apple user and I want to know the best way to get my 2006 325i with Sport Package, integrated with my iPhone 3G. My car only has the AUX IN in the armrest, no USB interface - is that something that can be dealer installed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I am sure the bluetooth will work just fine if I get that installed but I would like to get the music off my iPhone too and control it through the stereo.

Cheers,

D

I don't think that's possible. I don't know of any BMW that has the right Bluetooth set-up to stream music over Bluetooth – this would require that your car have the right Bluetooth profile to act like a pair of speakers for stereo audio sent from the iPhone.

Check out the Bimmerfest forums - they have a 6-series forum though a quick search there didn't reveal that your car has this capability.

'08 650 - Is there a way to set which contact group from the iPhone syncs via Bluetooth? Right now its pulling both personal contacts and an office contact group and I don't want the office contact group synced in the car.

Any ideas?
