Someone suggested turning off the WiFi (802.11). It now works perfectly, better than any previous phone.

Thank you for the suggestion and thank you Apple.

Thank you Xanith!!!
802.11 off and the hands free performance is the best I have ever had in a car. I will post this on Apple's site as well.

THANKS

I have a 2006 330i with iDrive and the added iPod interface. First off, very surprised that no one reported that when listening to Visual Voicemail it doesn't play through the bluetooth BMW car as it should. If you access your voice mail the normal way, it does.

Second the iPhone when connected to the car iPod interface says it isn't compatible. Those that got it to work, what Progman level is your BMW car software at?

I also have an 07 335i, but I am having issues with the iPhone. Whenever I place or recieve a call I can't hear the other person. Sometimes I get a couple of words, but it is essentially unusable. They can hear me fine by the way. I am pretty sure it is an iPhone issue b/c my wife's phone works fine via BlueTooth (Razor). Any suggestions??

That sounds like the Wi-Fi problem than many others have had. Try turning OFF Wi-Fi and I'll bet the audio clears right up.

I'm still waiting for Apple to fix this.

I too have begin to have issues with the bluetooth between the car (750iL) and iphone. Each connection begins garbled and after the first 5 seconds they (car and phone) begin to "wake up" and work. I am going to disable the wifi on the iphone and see what happens.

Does anyone have it working on older BMW's with the Bluetooth added after the fact.

I know it works fine on the 07 335i, but I also have a 2000 323i that I am using as a daily driver and it actually is more useful to have the Bluetooth in that car then the other one.

The 323i has an upgraded stereo off a 2004 3 series, I was planning on installing the version 13 ULF module BMW makes to add OEM bluetooth, I heard that their may be some issues with that and the iPhone.

Anyone have any ideas?

Never mind got my answer the Version 13 ULF is iPhone compatible, so anyone who is retrofitting bluetooth into an older 3 series (e46) this will work.

Consider yourself LUCKY!
Have a 2006 330Ci, iPhone SW 1.1.1 worked for a month, then audio reception gave up. After 4! days in the garage (silicon valley), BMW concluded that iPhones work in 3-series produced AFTER September 06, mine is a July 06.

Make sure to check the BUILD dates of your car
( http://wireless4bmw.com/phones2.html ), BWM is not very forthcoming in cas of BT issues:
"There is nothing we can (or will) do about this". "You were lucky it works for a month, now it is no longer working, and you have to deal with it". "See our disclaimers!"

Am I the only one who finds it difficult to understand that a +50kUSD "The Ultimate Driving Mashine (R)" with an BT as a 1000$ option is out-performed by a 25$ no-name BT headset from Fry's when it comes to work with a 399$ phone? Saubere Deutsche Engineursleistung, BMW.
