I have a 2006 330i with the pro audio (no iDrive) and I get the signal strength display with the iPhone. With the Q I only got the strength when I started the car or was on a call. Normally it didn't update. With the iPhone it seems to update the strength as the signal changes. I love it!

the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the signal strength display. with my moto Q, the car could actually monitor my signal strength. it showed a little bar icon near the time. don't get that with the iphone, otherwise everything else seems to work the same, although i haven't really tested it that much.

I have an 89' bmw 325is, but I was able to install the ipod in it, I've done more stupid work on this car, this was worth it though, it works with the iphone too.

Ok, so I am totally frustrated as to why my iphone won't sync to the bluetooth in my 2006 X5. It is a great safety feature, also I cannot play itunes?? WTF any advice as to how I can get this to work?

iphone works perfectly with the bluetooth system in my '06 X3 (no navigation, business cd stereo). i've never been able to see the signal strength bars on the stereo display with any previous phone (blackberry 8700c, motorola slvr, treo 680, nokia 6620) so i didn't expect this to show with the iphone.

now i'm just waiting for an iphone specific cradle from proclip to use with the mount i already have installed on my dash...

not sure why the iphone won't connect to your X5. but what do you mean about playing itunes? are you expecting the iphone to play music on your X5's speakers via bluetooth? if so, that's not going to happen - as far as i know, this isn't even possible with any phone. if you want to hear music on your iphone or any ipod through your X5's speaker, you need a special kit like bmw's "ipod your bmw" kit or the Dice interface.

Default IPhone Bluetooth and BMW not happy together

We have two IPhones and two 5 series in the family. Any combination of phone and car has poor hands free performance. Roughly 50% of the conversation is lost making the system useless.

I have had no problems with six different phones spread across multiple cars. Pairing was the the only function done with either IPhone to either car. Is more setup required? Am I missing something?

Default BMW and IPhone dropping 50% of the conversation

I've got two IPhones and two 5 series BMWs in the family. All four combinations of car and IPhone drop 50% of the conversation in hands free. I've not had these types of problems with any of our previous phones and thus suspect the IPhone. Has anyone else had this problem?

Try to disable the wifi on the iPhone while using bluetooth. I read on another BMW forum that this might resolve your issue.

I use the iPhone with my 335 without trouble with wifi disabled.

I'll give it a try and post the results. It would make sense as the problem "feels" like too much signal strength and clipping. It could very easily be RF cross talk. Thanks for the idea.......
