I have the Sony as well. Works fine with my iPod and Motorola headphones. Great on bike rides. I can also answer a call using the headphones too. I pair it with my RAZR. No iPhone. I had the iHiFi one before and it cut out way too much for a pleasant experience. The Sony does rarely. It's not perfect, but it's the best one I've tried.

I was just about to give up on the dream of a stereo BT headset that easily pairs to the iPhone (3G) for music and calls. Found the Sony DR-BT22iK kit at Fry's this weekend for $60. It includes a stereo BT headset and a tiny A2DP dock-connected dongle. Installation couldn't be easier; since the dongle and the headphones were pre-paired, I first put the headphones in pairing mode and paired them to the phone. That got them set up as a headset for calls. Then I just plugged in the dongle and now the headset is connected to both the phone and the dongle simultaneously. Calls route to the headset (which does have a microphone) and music also routes to the headeset. Everything works flawlessly! Music sounds great and calls work, too. I wish all of this could be done without the dongle, but at least the dongle is tiny and uses the phone's power.

Color me pleased :-)

Apple will probably come out with their own headset and make sure nothing else but theirs works, that seems to be the only logical answer as to why not.

Default This BT Transmitter headphone combo works!

http://shop1.frys.com/product/542179...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Fry's is selling the above combination for $60 only (unitl Dec 31 I think). It works with Iphone 3g. It immeditaley paired to send music, but you also have to pair it with the phone in order to get the phone side of it to work. I am using it and it 100% works and the sound quality is excellent for music, podcasts and movies. I thought you folks would like to know

Smile iPhone A2DP

I realize that this was posted a while ago, but for those of you who come across it, it really works.

What I used (and works):

█ iPhone 8GB Unlocked using 1.1.1
█ Nokia BH-503
█ Also working with 1.0.2

Method:
 1. Pair your headset, make a test call to see if it works. End the call normally.
 2. Dial *#307#, press call.
 3. Press the answer button twice with 2 seconds delay in your bluetooth headset (If you don't do this correctly, you will continue to listen the ringtone in headset)
 4. Press answer on iPhone.
 5. Press the home button, do NOT end the call.
 6. Open iPod and play a song, you won't get sound from iPhone, nor headset.
 7. Once it is playing, press the home button.
 8. Open phone.
 9. Dial 0, press Call.
 10. It will ring again, answer.
 11. Press audio source, select your headset.
 12. Press home button, do NOT end call. (we're almost there)
 13. Open iPod and play anything you like.

Shorter Way:
 1. *#307# Dial, press the bluetooth headset button twice.
 2. Answer on iPhone, press source.
 3. Select bluetooth headset.
 4. Press home button, open iPod, play anything.

Now, you will get iPod playing through your bluetooth headset.

Cons:
- Cannot receive calls

I cannot take credit for this. I am currently using it, but here is the original thread:

Good luck!

I just bought a fancy new 2.0 Bluetooth Jaybird headset that streams using the A2DP protocol and can't get it to work. How did you get your Sony to work?

The iPhone doesn't support A2DP at this time. There are rumors that the 3.0 announcement Tuesday will include this, but it is just a rumor at this time.

It is now no longer a rumor. If you have the 3G, A2DP will be supported in the 3.0 update.

i have the 3.0 and it is not working with my platronics 220. the only way for it to work is that i have to make a phone call or have the phone line open for it to be able to transmit music though bluetooth.

this sucks man.

is there any other way such as a hack...

i have just hacked my 3.0. if anyone knows let me know... thanks. jlara@acttoday.com
