Yeah this seems like it must be an automated thing or perhaps signing up for services that give texts alerts. That's just insane. And a 13,000 page bill? I would have hoped someone at AT&T would notice that.
Also, that large of a number displayed on the SMS icon clearly indicates that he's just receiving a ton and not checking them and/or replying back.

Of course he didn't do it manually.... that's insane.
He still took up the bandwidth, though. Now, SMS bandwidth is bountiful, but MMS? It's gonna get ugly... |

I can foresee a possible "sanity cap" on messages, even on unlimited plans.
