Default Upgrading Question

So I have heard that AT&T is allowing a full discount to the 3G S for people who bought the 3g when it came out. I just logged on to attwireless.com and checked my upgrade status and it still said I wont be able to use the discount until July 22nd. Why is this? Shouldn't I be able to use it on Friday whens it's released?

I think they just made it so you can upgrade earlier.

Yeah, you will be refunded if you already bought the product.. it does say that in the statement.

Ok cool. So I'm planning on buying it at the store. I'll pay $399 then I'll be refunded back $200?

Call AT&T today, they should be able to fix it, or at least note on your account so you only have to pay 199, if your getting the 16GB.

Having purchased an iPhone 3G is not the only criteria to receive an upgrade discount on the iPhone 3G S - check out this discussion thread that shows the details of what AT&T requires.
