Upgrading from 8GB to 16GB

Ok guys so I need a little help/advice.
I have an original 8GB iPhone and it has been enough for me up until the update, which took up about 1 GB.
I want to upgrade to a 16GB original but have no clue how exactly I would go about doing this.
Anyone have any experiences with this or have any advice?

If I were in your shoes I would wait until June/July for the new iPhone to come out and buy the new one. But if you like your 1st gen so much I would suggest buying it from eBay.

The other one was asking how exactly to do it through ATT.

Anyways, is it known/popullarly believed that another iPhone will come out this summer?
