This is not true. If you have a 200 message plan, you can send and receive 200 messages (text or MMS) before they start charging you additional. If you do not have a plan, AT&T charges 30 cents per message + 1 cent per kilobyte of data transfered. As an iPhone owner with unlimited data you would only be charged 30 cents.
