They're coy about MMS too. Just business.

What is this 'microcell' of which you speak?

PAY AT&T to help their coverage??? You gotta be kiddin' me. Pay them another $20 per month for unlimited calls using VoIP on MY OWN broadband at home? No freakin' way.

And what idiot would use broadband-to-microcell-to-iPhone for data when you can easily use WiFi, which you prolly already have if you have broadband in the first place?

Yet, I kinda want one.

Microcell...essentially a mini cell tower in your house.
The moronic thing is AT&T will charge each Microcell user a monthly fee to use the service, while at the same time they are improving their own coverage area.

I realize you're renting the equipment for the microcell but $20/month seems like a lot just for better service where you live. Of course, I live in a great 3G area and can't complain.

Supposedly, the 3G microcell is running into delays due to compliance with FCC requirements concerning E911. Currently, only two cities in NC (Charlotte and Raleigh) have it on a test basis.

Last I heard, before the end of the year. We're almost there. Will AT&T make it?
