It's not your phone
If you live in the Southeast of the US, mainly Alabama, Georgia, or Florida, then you might be noticing that your 3G data is not working, and you might be getting an error message along the lines of PDP Authentication Failure.
This is an AT&T problem and by the time you read this, it should be resolved.
So don't run to the Apple store just yet, or smash your phone to pieces, because there is nothing wrong with it. Trust me, I just spent the better part of an hour resetting network settings, testing and finally calling AT&T for the skinny.
And for those AT&T bashers, go ahead, here is your moment. I have to say that this is only the second time in 2 years that I have ever had a problem accessing data. The first time was the rollout of the new 3g network. This is the second time, and it seem to be system related, which mean this is the first time I have ever had a problem that wasn't purposefully induced.
I've had AT&T since Cingular first appeared, buying up Bell South. I didn't want Cingular, but wanted to use my phone, and stayed with AT&T ever since. Something like 10-15 years.
