Default iPhone for $23 a month

This article is making the rounds and is pretty interesting. Seems all the pieces are in place for making this possible and totally useable.

Yes but from my experience with skype, it doesn't seem like a good idea to use for all calls. I would rather pay the 65 a month and work a couple days a a week lol.

The cool thing is that it's possible. Imagine if you lived in one of those cities where it's city wide wifi. Wouldn't even have to activate the phone, just use WiFi the whole time.

I would just get an iPod Touch and a good set of buds w/mic.

What cities have wifi everywhere? It's a cool idea. My edge is too spotty though to really make this worth it.

There are a couple test cities out there (San Francisco I believe is one) Where they have wifi over the whole city. If you tie in, you have sign-up for a flat monthly fee for access. It's actually pretty cheap.

Philadelphia does, and currently it's free, but it doesn't work that great inside buildings.

I like the whole city wide wifi idea. Other countries of the world are kicking our ass as far as internet technology goes. This would get us back on the map.

Sounds like a lot to go through just to be cheap.
