Default Help me decode ATT's cryptic upgrade note...

Hi All,

I sent in my request for whether I'm able to upgrade at my 3G to a 3G S today and received the following text back:

"As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new 2-yr commitment and waive the $18 upgrade fee."

Anyone have a clue what this means? How much will I need to pay for a 32GB version?...

no matter when you bought your 3G you will still have to pay full price for the 3Gs. i bought mine on release last year and i still have 6 months before i can upgrade. soo your looking at $399.99 for the 32gig i think. (whatever full retail is)

That is incorrect now. Anyone who is eligible for an upgrade between July and September can also get the subsidized price.

To me, that sounds like you'll get the "new contract" price (199 or 299, depending on size) and not have to pay the upgrade fee.

When I added the 32GB iPhone to my cart I got the same "valued customer" line and it showed the phone as $299.

Looks like you have a subsidized iPhone available.
