So i was wondering if i can just use 19.99 unlimited media net. Basically right now i have nokia smartphone and i use unlimited data plan for 19.99 ... i am switching back to iphone in my next bill cycle in a week.. i have unlocked and jailbroke myiphone.. so can i just pop in sim and start using data under the same plan..
I take it you mean 3G iPhone?
If so, your plan may work for a while, but I think I've read some stories online where AT&T will eventually start charging you for the 3G plan. Once you connect to their network with your iPhone 3G, your phone info is sent to them and they will know that it's a 3G device that should be on a 3G data plan...
There is an automated system that will cross-check to see if you are using an iPhone if you are on the correct data plan. So if you have a Media Net plan for a while you could, without warning, be switched to the $30.00 data plan if a sweep is done.
Big Brother is watching you!
I have been using the ATT unlimited media net for almost a year with the Nokia N95(3G phone) and it costs me $15 for a month. Anyways I just purchased a jailbroken iphone 3G (not from Apple or ATT) for a couple of days and guess what I just received an email from ATT that said "Our service records indicate that you are using an iphone 3G with a data plan designed for other devices". I wondered if I unlock the iphone that would make any difference because I hate to pay $15 extra a month just to be able to use the iphone on the 3G network.

I dont know if unlocking would work one way or the other, because once that IMEI of your iPhone is on your service in the system, you will need the $30 data plan...
