medianet works fine for me. just no visual voicemail when using the iphone with it.

MediaNet was/is AT&T's regular data package. Technically, KNK you have access to it too, but it's not worth the headache, plus it's geared to regular Mobiles with WAP, and not something like the iPhone with a full internet Browser.
MediaNet is also responsible for many customers getting "SPAM" text messages. I still get one every2 weeks or so...

My parents' phones have MediaNet. I needed to Google something the other day and didn't have my iPhone. I put my mom's phone away after 5 seconds of using MediaNst. Bleh.

i have a question, i have an unlocked iphone on my current at&t phone plan. today i added the unlimited PDA data plan. will i be able to use the iphone with EDGE?

Yes, since that is the network the iPhone currently runs on.
You might want to verify that you are not paying too much for your package.
iPhone plans through AT&T are generally cheap comparitively speaking.
59.00 is 450 Peak minutes, 5000 weekend and evening after 9pm, 200 text and unlimited data.
Not sure how much you talk or text, but I would check into it. you could be over-paying up to 20 a month - if not MORE.

^thanks for the fast response. i have one more question. yesterday i found out i was getting charged 460 on my first iphone bill which im guessing it is all coming from data because my family plan (2100 minutes, unlimited texting) is usually around 188.89. So, i went in to At&t and purchased a PDA data plan, by my question earlier, i was wondering to be sure, will i be able to surf my iphone through EDGE with that PDA data plan or do i have to separately add the iphone data plan. i did not add the iphone data plan because i unlocked it myself without activating through itunes.

It should be the same data access. sounds a little like you are in a pickle though. If you are paying more than $20 for access, you are over paying.
It would almost be worth activating through iTunes to get the unlimited data. They cannot tell that the phone is unlocked when activated through itunes, so that's not a problem.
You could try activating through itunes, then calling AT&T to get everything straightened out. But if you are happy with what you have now, then that's fine too.
