I connected my iPhone and received the new update...now my power cord doesn't power my G4 iBook. Is it possible the update somehow messed up my power cord?

It's a conspiracy to make you have to buy all new equipment. First the iBook, next it will be your iPhone, then your house and car. The economy has to keep moving forward you see.
