By all means hack away! LoL I was not happy with the volume of the factory sounds, so I imported them into my computer, raised the sound levels, then uploaded them back into the phone. Now ti can actually HEAR it when I get a text message.:laugh2:

AMEN BROTHER!!! That's exactly what I did and I am very happy now with the iPhone.

but will you guys have to redo all of the settings whenver apple launches another update? I've read that this is inevitable. Am I mistaken?

Found the answer. Google "iBrickr". This program is very easy to use, I changed all my system sounds using my own mp3s in less than 2 minutes.
