I was curious to find out how many people have their i-Phone insured. I ask because I just called my local Insurance Office and got mine insured.

It's 30 dollars per year and covers Damaged, Lost or Theft.

I thought that was pretty good...., Considering I play Pool very regularly and since getting the i-Phone I've been hesitant to even take it out of my pocket when I'm at the local pool hall.

Just wondered if anyone else did this?

Which insurance company did you use?

My local State Farm office, found a under writer to cover personal items. All I had to do was take them a copy of the receipt were I bought the phone. I really feel better now, having it insured.

Damn -- I wish I could find a State Farm agent in my area that would cover my iPhone, but one agent says they don't cover it and another says that iPhone insurance hasn't come to our "zone" yet...:frown:

it can differ from state to state for two main reasons:
1. Insurance regulations/laws can differ from state to state and. . .

2. State Farm has different underwriters in different areas. State Farm can only insure what their underwriters are willing to insure.

I just received a cancellation notice from the insurance company on my old phone - and was going to call my personal insurer tomorrow - the $30 a year is great but what kind of deductible do you have?

Mine is 100 dollars. Which to replace a 600 dollar phone doesn't really bother me. There's a couple people that have posted 40 some dollars and no deductible. However that's not a option in my area.

Called and left a message with my State Farm guy, I'll let you know what they charge.

At the time I bought my phone I asked about insurance and AT&T said they don't offer insurance which I thought was strange. And now I was at assurion's site looking into insuring my daughter's phone (T-Mobile sidekick 3), and they say they only can insure if you add it within 14 days of purchase. Well I have had my iphone almost a month now, so I hope I don't run into a similar limitation with State Farm.

I'll let you know. Glad I found this forum. (now to go looking for how to add things to my phone like custom ringtones and games. like could I take out the calculator or time clock and put in a game there? -- I guess I need to find a new thread for that topic)

I got my 8gb iPhone and my dSLR (canon 30d) insured through statefarm for $50/year. I had to do the camera cause the minimum policy they would write was $50. Covers all with zero deductible.

Nope, that is my only policy through them. Was told by my homeowner agent (non statefarm) that it was better to keep it seperate as any claims would then not effect the premium on my homeowners.

I have American Family and I got my phone and my girlfriends phone added to our homeowner's policy for $6 a piece. I do have a $50 deductible and I'm covered for damages, lost and stolen phones. I'm psyched.

Mine is insured through Farmers in AZ, let me know if you need contact info. Your policy will probably change from zip code to zip code as insurance companies often raise rates if you live in an area with higher crime rates etc.

This will go on my "things to do when get my iphone" list

Thanx!

Now, lets have someone hammer their glass and see how quick they replace it! =P

I am insured with Met Life and added the Iphone for $6 a year on what they called Scheduled Personal Property - I have all risk insurance so it is covered against all damage and theft.

man where do you guys live?? I live in MO and State Farm does not insure it...It is however insured under the homeowners warranty, but that is just if it gets stolen or is in a fire... No accidental insurance available.
