Apple will fix it for $200 (4GB) or $250 (8GB). Plus $30 for a loaner, if you need one.

They simply charge their cost for a new phone, for any out of warranty repairs.

That way, they can either just give you a replacement, or pocket the extra money if it costs less.

Gotta love their business model.

my crack is not that big I think I could live with it for now. Not sure if that's a good idea.

if it is small don't worry about it imo (unless $250 is not a lot for you) This won't be the last and now you can give your self permission not to baby it.
