I just purchased a pair of VMODA Vibe Duo headphones with a mic and the mic is always on. Os there any way to turn them off while I listen to music on the IPhone. I can hear myself talk when I have them on.

I don't know, but I looked at those and after I read the third or fourth "don't waste your money" customer review I figured it was a flawed product.

Could the lack of an answer button be your issue?

I have both the Rivet and the VModa Duo. For the money, the Rivets are a good replacement for the stock Apple headset. The sound is better than the stock phones and the answer button works very well. Call quality is fine. The Duo's have much better sound and are much more comfortable. The lack of an answer button is not a problem if you screen your calls on the iphone. I just picked up the Shure MPA which allows my other headsets to be used as well as a direct connection into my vehicles head unit. It is probably the best way to go if you already have a good headset. Otherwise the Duos are a good choice.
