I too was very close to going back to blackberry again. I miss my 8800. I decided to give the iphone another chance. I do feel the BB is a much better phone but only due to what i used it for. I use it mainly for email and instant messaging. The iphone i believe will never be a BB as far as instant messaging goes. Jivetalk just rocks as a 3rd party app. As far as emails well i think that will be fixed in due time. I admit i do not like that iphone does not push all emails from all services instantly. I am sure that will be fixed in future updates. Overall the web rocks and i do still get to message people thru jivetalk. shady but hey it works. I say dont lose hope in the iphone. As with anything new it has issues and so far the issues i have i believe will be fixed thru software updates.

The iPhone is certainly expensive and most probably over priced, but it is the most enjoyable phone I have ever had. I prefer to use the web based gmail for my personal email and I have no desire to access my work email from a phone. The calendar is perfectly suitable for my business needs. I absolutely love the photo viewer and the iPod capabilities, especially the video. I also like the form factor quite a bit. The half screen/half keyboard form factor has never appealed to me.
I think the iPhone is an excellent personal entertainment device that also meets my business needs. The BB is a good business productivity device. To each his own.

If I get an offer over 350 I'm selling mine as well. Texting sucks on it, the volume sucks, no picture messaging, no voice recording, no video etc...
There were phones out years ago that did all of this and still had MP3 players and google maps.

but uhh, sounds like you have crappy hardware and something horribly wrong with your software, but if your cool with getting a curve which is half as cool as this, go ahead.
but im saying this as a friend...and a stranger, stick with the iphone, this is the ONLY mobile device that WILL NOT be outdated within 6 months, but sooner or later (probably sooner than later), they're gonna come out with a blackberry oyster or something stupidly ridicilous like that...
but ultimately, its YOUR choice, make sure you make the right one and not regret it later

If you have an iphone that's constantly freezing you have a bad iphone. Take it to your local apple store and have them take a look.
the blackberry is a good cellphone for business ppl. iphone is a decent cellphone for business ppl and a great cellphone for the average joe who can afford it.
I hope your new BB meets your needs better then the iphone did.

Where do these morons come from?. The Curve uses the same EDGE network as the iPhone with no HSDPA or wi-fi.
So exactly how is your "internet faster"?
Whan an idiot. Curve owners are - dragging - across the net. Enjoy your crackberry.
Maybe it's just me but... the internet on my BlackBerry Curve is EXTREMELY slow. It takes a long time for a page to load and sometimes the page does not even load. I get this error:
"A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy please try again later. If the problem persists contact your service provider."
i have an unlocked curve and my internet is slow too. it takes a while to load pages. my 8700 was much quicker to load pages. i'd like to know, too.
While navigation is improved with the trackball, the Curve's web browser is still the all-too-frustrating BlackBerry browser that most people fear and revile. For those who haven't used this before, just imagine the most limited and ugly browser on the planet.
When you open even the simplest web site in the browser you get something that vaguely looks like a crossword puzzle with randomly inserted pictures. Some web sites won't even function properly. If you plan to use the Curve's browser on a regular basis, you need to stick to mobile device-oriented websites, which look much better on a BlackBerry.

Well if your not happy with it, your not happy with it.. Guess the Iphone isnt your type of phone/device. Its just like a cellular plan, you really need to buy a device that will fit your needs, if a Blackberry works better for ya, great!
Me personally, I love my Iphone.. I really havent had any of the problems other people have complained about it, and the thing I find most facinating about it is that the iphone is more software driven than hardware driven like ALL current phones on the market which makes it a much more versatile phone/device.
By the way, far as mass SMS.... Anyone even try building a contact list in outlook or whatever? that is... In Outlook you can build a contact list that will Mass E-mail whoever is on that particular contact list... All you would need is thier Web SMS addy to do this.
Far as the iphone locking up from time to time.... Have you tried to actually turn it off and back on? Just like any other mobile device after continuall 24/7 operation things tend not to work so smoothly.. Example, Stay up for a week and see if you can remember who ya are. hehe :tounge:

I can understand. If you're used to that type of keyboard and text messaging is very important to you, I can understand you going with a blackberry curve. They seem to be pretty cool phones too.
I can't really relate to your issue because I came to the iphone from a RAZR, ROKR, V551, Nokia 6340i, Nokia 5165, and Nokia 5190. If I had every actually had a BB, I might be somewhat disappointed too.
Have fun with it.

That 20GB iPhone is strictly rumor right now. Apple has not even come close to saying any other phones are in the works right now. If there were to be a 20GB iPhone it would have to have a hard drive in it. The reason why the current iPhone don't have the hard drive and why they are limited to 4 and 8GB, is for the durability of these. Flash drives can take the abuse from being dropped and handled rough. Look at the guy who dropped his iPhone from a moving truck, the thing still works.
Don't count on a 20GB version anytime soon.

While I agree this is just rumor right now, I don't think a 20 GB iPhone warrants a hard drive. In less space than the smallest HD you can fit 20 GB using flash.
I suspect that we'll see the 8 GB iPhone drop to the low-end spot (4 GB dropped) with a 16 GB (or higher) version replacing the 8 GB model--not right away, of course.
Heck, I don't know about anyone else but I'd have paid an extra $100 for a 16 GB version if it was available at launch.

If you make a mistake on it, it's a hassle to go back and correct it. A lot of keyboards like the one on the LG EnV are just superior. It's a decent keyboard, but certainly not the best.

Yup i'm returning this overrated iphone today, I don't mind paying 10% restocking fee. Blackberry Curve here i come!
I actually gave up my Curve for the iPhone. Nearly went back. Then I realized they're two different devices, designed to compete in different markets--and they both do most of what they do very well. Consider the many years of BB development to get to the Curve, vs. the iPhone which is a 1.0 device. Given that information, I kept this awesome piece of technology because I realize it will only get better. If you think the early RIM devices were this refined for their 1.0 versions, you'd be mistaken.

all these blackberry fanboys are m@rons. you feel the need to bash the iphone saying it's not a business device. it was never supposed to be. it was supposed to be a multimedia phone, and from that aspect, it crushes all of the competition. if apple wanted to make a business device they would have. one more thing, your friend just wanted you to take that blackberry so he could make big $$$$ from the comission he will get after he made you take that data plan. have fun with that!

LOL!
I work for AT&T too, and I completely agree. The only reason this guy is getting a "deal" on the Curve is because the rep gets DOUBLE the commission seeing as the iPhone's data plan is 20, and the BB is almost 40 with texting.
We use Blackberry's for work, and I totally agree that if that's your primary need for a smart phone, then it's the right device for you. However, if you want a phone with a lot of features, you can't beat the iPhone.
All these "typing" issues are bogus. I'm faster on my iPhone than my BB Pearl and Curve! And the iPhone can update it's firmware with new features!
It's all about what you're looking at. The Blacberry is good for work, not play.

Hey hiphop, explain to me why you're getting rid of it cos I'm waiting for the UK one and I want someone to talk me out of wanting it. I only want it so bad cos I'm a fan of touch screen and the other touch screen phones I've used were too business oriented, I just want it for fun. I love the screen and interface on the iPhone but the rest of it's just so three years ago. Slow internet, no auto-focus, no GPS, crippled Bluetooth, bad battery, etc. I'd get the Prada phone but it's not a smart-phone. Mustn't waste my money, mustn't waste my money. I'm just worried that they'll release a 3G version over here, that's my main reason for not getting one.
With all the renewed interest in the mobile phone market with the iPhone and N95 making the higher end phones more fashionable, there's been rumours that Nokia might announce something special within the next six months. If it's even anything like the concepts it'll be awesome:
