To receive my office email through my new iphone, I am having a copy of my work email sent to my gmail address. I want my responses from my iphone to look like I sent them from my office email address and not my gmail account. I set up an alternate email address to reflect my work email address. So now, when I receive an email from work, I can respond back on a desktop & the email address appears as work@work.com. However, when I send a response through with my iphone, my from address is showing up as user@gmail.com instead of work@work.com. I have tried setting up a email account on iphone using the following method:
Tap Mail from your iPhone's Home screen.
Tap Other.
Select POP from the tab menu.
Fill in your name, address, and description in the appropriate fields. The Address field should be your full email address (work@work.com).
Under Incoming Mail Server, fill in the Host Name field as pop.gmail.com.
In the User Name field, enter recent:user@gmail.com
Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), smtp.gmail.com.
Tap Save.Everything sets up fine, but when I try to send out an email from the iphone it says "Cannot Send Mail. The sender address work@work.com was regected by the server."
Has anyone set something like this up. Can you point in the right direction?
