Am I alone on this one but I would to have the a better calculator on my iPhone, one with a % key or scientific calculation features. Maybe in the update.

It would be nice to have, but I doubt Apple's first update will include perfecting the calculator.:gasp:

all I want is a "CL" button. Clear Last.

Its a pain when you make a mistake and have to star all over.

I'd like a square root...

It would be cool if, when rotated, the calculator gives scientific calculation options.

Yeah, wishing for RPN (won't happen, I know).

That's like saying, "I feel like if I needed to listen to music, I would just use my iPod that I spent $300 on". We bought the iPhone because it combines all of these things into one device, so having a scientific calculator would be a very nice touch (but obviously not vital at all right now, we have other issues).

You could also just use google IF you have internet access. I know its not what your asking for but its a temp solution until apple decides to fix it.

I was thinking the same thing when I made a mistake yesterday and thought to myself there should have been a better calculator.

So I guess we wait for a software update... tip calculation would make me happier.

Just bought CalcPad, a calculator that works like calculating text editor. You can change any number entered and the app automatically recalculates the results. I replaced the apple calculator with this one!

how about this one (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=301163759&mt=8)? it seems to offer a lot more, for a lower price. i think im gonna try this one out, i did kinda need a calculator for math class and im not gonna go out and spend $80 on a ti83 :2cool:

*edit* ok, i tried that one, and doesnt work like i'd expect it to. theres gotta be a really good graphing calculator out there, and im gonna try to find it...

Well, there is a % if you just tilt the calculator into landscape mode. Is that what you were looking for?

I realize this is rather late in this discussion, but my company Sentry Apps, (http://www.sentryapps.com/) LLC has just recently made a business calculator for the iPhone and iPod Touch called BisCal (http://www.sentryapps.com/biscal/). It includes the basic functions you mention, such as percent. So if that meets your needs, you can buy it at the app store (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=306141173&mt=8).

We will be working on a scientific calculator soon called SciCal. So since you all had your different wishlist, and if you still want anything in particular, I encourage you to visit SciCal's forum (http://www.sentryapps.com/forum/scical) and contribute to its features.

Thanks for expressing your opinions and wants. We app developers do listen.
