How to unlock Apple iPhone?

I'm in a dilemma right now!!! Is it worth getting the iPhone and have it unlocked so i can use it with other service provider plus where can i get the instructions to unlock it? I don't want just a widescreen ipod and Wifi. If possible i want the phone function as well.

P/s: I'm planning to get one that is already unlocked but if i have the steps to unlock it myself it would be much cheaper!

It can't be unlocked yet, if it becomes unlocked you will only be able to use it with tmobile.

An unlocked iphone could be used by any GSM provider. In the US the two largest are At&t and T-Mobile, but there are a number of smaller GSM providers as well.
