Transfer iPhone Photos to iPhoto?

Wondering if anyone knew of a way to extract my photos from iPhone to my Mac (ideally into iPhoto)?

If you have iPhoto open when you connect it to the Mac it should detect the iPhone and tell you it is ready to import the photos. Just make sure you have iPhoto open before you connect.

Open iPhoto and plug your iPhone in and it will say ready to import and click import
