I caved and finally bought one. Didn't port my number yet so I still have my Verizon phone. Have noticed that AT&T doesn't pick up as good, and it seems to always be in buildings where AT&T fails. I am still deciding on what to do, I do love the phone. The form factor is great and the UI is amazing, it has stalled a couple times on me and I had to restart it. Videos look great, but I am still trying to figure out when I will watch a movie, or tv show. I have only put movies on there for the wow factor. I need to have a reason besides when I go on a plane, which is <2 times a year. Edge is slower then I expected, that is a downfall, I was prepared for slow internet, but seriously, it is SLOWWWWWW.

Still thinking.

Doesn't help that my GF has verizon and so do most friends I know at school, although I mostly txt. If I am on the phone to someone other then GF it is usually a quick convo less then 8 mins. But it does hurt her with the unlimited txting and talking we won't have. Plus her dad controls her bill, and he hates changing things on it. Verizon has an add-on for unlimited txting to anyone, and it isn't much. But obviously it is an inconvenience.

Yeah it is my phone and my bill...but it does affect her. It isn't like we spend hours on the phone together as it is, we usually txt if we are apart, and talk a few mins at night if we aren't staying with each other. But yes I do have others to consider in my choice.

come on man. The iPhone rocks. Show her the iPhone and she'll look up to you. Get rid of your iPhone and she'll think you're weak!!!

Honestly, I bought my iPhone on iDay and was thinking about returning it. But after a week of usage, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

hey its her dads bill to worry about. Do you see this as a girl you are going to marry? If so and your that worried then add a line to your plan. Don't give up your awesome phone just because they are with verizon. I switched from verizon and sprint and verizon is probably the best service but man their phone lineup is the worst by far! If she complains that you switched get a new girl! There are many of them and you can find them anywhere but there is only one iPhone and you sure can't get it on verizon!

Couldn't you just go to her house instead of texting all the time. I am not into texting so I have no idea how people text as much as they do.

Girlfriends come and go.....and yes, Tech stuff goes even faster (unless you're me...lol).

But, if you really like the phone, i'd keep it. She'll deal with it. lol

You guys make it sound like she's gonna break up with him, just because he bought a cell phone. I'm sure daddy won't have a problem paying a tad more each month.

Besides, unless this is the girl you plan on marrying, (and that's never something you can accurately plan) then who cares? There'll be more!

I agree with somethings others have said, its just a phone, but if you are real serious about her prove it. Add her to your plan and get her an iphone also. Problem solved. Dont have to worry about daddy and she is sure to give you some:laugh2:

You guys are crazy. No, I don't think we would break up over it. I was just explaining how she was making me feel like it was a hassle for her to change her plan.

Main concerns with it now are the EDGE speed and the service loss I encounter when I go into some buildings.

This is your opinion, based on your own priorities. The long list of hassles and heartaches involved with women, are not part of my particular priorities. lol

Let her deal with her own bill. Tell her not to text as much or just pick up the phone and call you. Never let women run/control your life. Ever. Seriously.

Main concerns with it now are the EDGE speed and the service loss I encounter when I go into some buildings.
It sounds like you need a little more time with it. If you're only partially satisfied now, do yourself a favor and return the phone if you're not getting the coverage you need. It's a great phone but if it doesn't work half the time, what are you really paying for?

If a girl doesn't like you because of a phone, get rid of the girl. Chances are, there's other stuff she won't like. Women are controlling. They will test you day in and day out to see if you'll comply. The moment you do, they run. Or marry you. The choice is yours. Put the smile on your face first and others will follow. Never the other way around.

Besides, even if you don't keep it for functionality, it is a piece of simplistic, modern art! A beauty it is too.

I use wi-fi mostly. Whenever I do have to switch over to Edge, I can notice the difference. But, it's not enough to where I would return my phone. I haven't had any problems with reception. But that all depends on where you live. You should check AT&T's coverage map where you live and see if you're in a good reception area.

At the end of the day, you will have to make the decision that best fits you and your current situation. You know it better that we do. Post back with what you decide to do. (Rememeber you have a 14 day return period.)

Good Luck!

'Bout time somebody raised up and spoke the truth around here! lol
They'll test you, and depending on your reaction, their mood, your tone of voice, the day of the week, the week of the year, the year of the decade, the direction of the wind, etc, they will leave you at the drop of a hat.

Forget trying to please her 100%, it's 100% impossible.
