Mail Locked up?

Tonight I got an e-mail with a 15mb attachment and tried, without realizing how big the attachment was to forward it to a co-worker. The e-mail said loading for maybe 5 minutes and nothing happened. Eventually, the screen went blank except for the mailboxes, edit, refresh and message link buttons, but they were not functional. If I leave the screen up, maybe 1 minute later it goes back to the home page and everything else seems to function OK...But, mail comes up with the same blank screen every time. I have tried to restart the i phone by holding the power button and the home page button several times, with no luck...Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Does anyone have any additional suggestions? Pretty frustrating for a phone that is 1 week old! Thanks in advance for any advice!

I think you might need to restore your iPhone with iTunes. That should fix it.

How does one "restore" the i phone wth i tunes?

Is this a common problem?

I've had mail crash on me numerous times...but never to the point where it broke the application, though it does not surprise me. Mail seems to have issues with network load/signal etc.

Try holding the power and home button for about 15 seconds and see if you can get it to reset. If not you might have to use the restore feature in iTunes.
