I'm thinking of upgrading to a 3gs 16gb and am wondering if you can use all the apps I have purchased from iTunes for my 3g and move it to the 3gs? Any help would be great.

Most should work just fine, especially if you have a recent firmware revision on your 3G.

I currently have firmware 3.0.1 is that still ok?

That's fine, but there are more and more apps coming out now that require 3.1 or higher, so be aware of that. You may want to upgrade to 3.1.2 anyway, since the jailbreak and unlock are out for that if you need them.
