I used Blackra1n on Windows, then installed Balcksn0w and my Wifi keeps coming in and out. Anyone with a permanent fix?
I've already tried resetting, hard reset, but the fix isn't permanent.
NO issues with VVM.

EDIT: This method fixes WiFi but apparently breaks IM Push.

the Push Fix killed my push notifications for Beejive IMs.....:( thanks anyway for all your help!!
I might have to restore and install blacksn0w via Cydia - seems like the Wifi issues doesn't happen when blacksn0w is installed via Cydia. I was really hoping to avoid restore!

Hmm. I bet that's what killed Ping! for me.

I'm still having issues with WiFi. I tried the Push Fix as recommended by Europa, but to no avail. I tried resetting my Network Settings a few times with no success. Oh well, restore one more time I guess....

maybe you should try to restore and then install blacksn0w via Cydia. someone else said they had no Wifi issues with that approach.
i think that's what i'm going to try.....
let me know if it works!

I just uninstalled Push Fix and now my WiFi is broke again (obviously). My missing Ping's didn't come through either.
I'm going to restore, jailbreak with blackra1n, and avoid blacksn0w (I don't need an unlock).

my Beejive took a while to work, but now it's working. when i first uninstalled Push Fix - i was still not getting my IMs pushed to me, but after like 30 min and multiple test runs with my friends on IM, it's okay now.
i dont really need unlock either, it was just a "in case" for the future. i might just do blackra1n only - this research to fix the Wifi issues is taking too much time from my workday!!!!

Exactly. I just ran blacksn0w to test it. It still has some bugs that need worked out. I'm restoring right now.

I tried doing a hard reset and it seems to bring back wifi each time. Maybe I'll hold off the restore, as I really do not want to lose my calendar events. Took me forever to enter each one.

Yeah, but you should monitor your Wifi connection throughout the day. I did the hard reset and Wifi came back on, but then went out after awhile. It seems very spotty

MobileMe has a 2 month free trial. I highly recommend it, it's the best way to sync contacts and calendars over the air. The Find My iPhone feature is also nice. You could just do the trial if you don't want to pay for it. You can get it for around $55 on Amazon IIRC. I paid $70 at an Apple Store.

Restore is done and now I'm syncing my media back on. I'll let you know if I encounter any more problems.

I have a friend who JB his 3G with blackra1n (I think) and his Wifi won't detect any access points. If he does a reset network settings, his phone goes into an infinite reboot loop. He has to DFU it and restore.
Is that was others are seeing as well?

Mine seems to work well after the reset. No issues with reboot.

Weird.. it happens all the time... I told him to try to use the pwnage tool instead.
He showed me at lunch, and left with a rebooting phone :)

Hey Europa, does MobileMe sync calendar events which were entered manually on the iPhone's caldendar itself?

Yeah, and it does it wirelessly too. I can put a calendar event or contact in my phone and within a couple seconds it shows up on my other phone and on my MacBook.

I don't know anyone that's actually paid $99 for it. Like I said, I got it for $70 at an Apple Store. It was a promotional sale price if you bought a new iPhone. I had bought my 3GS online 3 weeks earlier and asked them if I could still have the discount. They just needed to see my receipt, so I pulled up the email and got the sale price. Amazon.com is even cheaper. After having it, I honestly can't imagine having an iPhone without it. The iDisk app is nice for accessing uploaded files as well as the storage space (20 GB IIRC), but Find My iPhone, push contacts, calendars, and email are what I really want it for.
Kaba, it works great on PC's as well with Outlook and Windows contacts.

Interesting. I really don't know if I'd use it, though. I mean, I use iTunes to sync all my contacts and all my e-mail accounts are IMAP so they all sync regardless. Plus, I have a dedicated server to host all my websites, so I use FTP/SSH for all my files, etc...
