No better reason for hands-free calling!

It would definitely be a neat thing some day. The neat thing being true "cruise control" with self-driving cars and the sort.

You exercise self-restraint while driving and wait until you've stopped moving.

It could be really helpful if I parked out in BFE & the sky decides to open up. I don't have an umbrella. I can have the car come to me.

And when you run out of battery on a long drive?

Use a car charger.

We essentially already have a version of this.
Ex: Mercedes has a system called Distronic Plus which will automatically slow down and accelerate for you, even in stop-and-go traffic and emergency braking situations, and also, Lexus has a system called Lane Keep Assist and when activated, it utilizes steering movements to keep you from drifting out of your lane, even around small corners. P.S. Mercedes has a similar system. :dft012:wink

Yeah the new technologies currently are fantastic. But I want full-on, hit drive and fall asleep, cruise control. Only for some driving times of course. I really do enjoy driving.

Here's a vision of the future from the past; Cars that drive themselves while we sit in the back seat playing cards and have oodles of time on our hands due to 3 hour work days.
ahh, 1950's optimism.

How does blocking Honda's avatar have any effect on ad revenue?

I changed it. So now Europa can discontinue her quest to convince London to use ad block.

Okay, but I'm not taking full responsibility for the amplified effects this avatar change will produce over time. London is equally responsible for the Chaos that will ensue.

Then we'll just have to split the responsibiliy three ways, between you, London and myself. The chaos will die down eventually, and in a few years, this will all be forgotten.

The 2010 Toyota Prius is definitely worth taking a look at. I know it's a dumb grand ma's car but just watch this video.

I really like the fact that it automatically slows down when cruise control is on and you get too close to a car in front of you.
Napoleon_PhoneApart

Why is it a dumb grandma's car?
TarekElsakka
11-04-2009, 07:01 AM
Because first, it certainly looks like one. Second, it is for people who claim they love the environment and don't want to use cars that destroy it (gas saver, etc.). And I am saying the car is dumb not the grand ma part.
Napoleon_PhoneApart
11-04-2009, 01:26 PM

I see a butt-load of 30-somethings drive Prius's (Priuii?) all the time. Never seen a grandma drive one.

11-04-2009, 03:33 PM
lol Grandma figures she'll be dead before her "impact" by driving a Prius will do anything.
Toyota Prius isnt even efficient or lowering any "carbon footprint" when you really look into it. The car is far from green...but since some of the public just associate high MPG and the pizzaz of "Hybrid" they think they are doing a good thing and saving the world from global warming.
It may get better gas mileage, but its no different from than say... a Range Rover.
