I personally feel as if The Descent is pretty dang creepy.

By excluding movies more than twenty years old, you leave out a lot of contenders.

Each person has their own ideas about what is scary. What might scare the pants off of one person might be boring to someone else, ie Paranormal Activity. LOL

Does this really need to become another movie debate thread? Why can't we just answer his question and list movies that are less than 20 years old that we thought were scary?

I thought Exorcist 3 was really disturbing.

Exorcist (1st part) is pretty scary and not too disgusting as most scary movies are.

I remember going to see Alien when it was first in the theater in the 70s. Twenty minutes into the movie, my heart was pounding and nothing had happened yet! I was thinking that if I hadn't paid $4.00 to see it (pretty pricey back then), I would have left.

What a wuss.

I saw Alien when I was in 6th grade. It was pretty good, but not scary. I slept like a baby that night. :dft012:wink

I haven't seen this but I heard good things about Rec. It's from 2007.

The Shining is from 1980 but it's definitely worth watching. It was good for its time.

Yeah, Rec was good. Kind of scary. I can't remember, did London review it?

I think i did. Incase i didnt, i thought it was amazing. I liked it over Quarantine. It was much more better, and it had less of the filler crap that Quarantine had.

Forgot about that one! Not the scariest for me, but definitely a good movie.

London - Much more better? lol j/k

I have to throw Psycho in there (original) 1960 and Rosemary's Baby (1968)

In the last 20 years... hmmm really difficult, as I think they are more jumpy than scary - but how about Fallen (1998).

Europa

Yeah! Fallen was pretty good.

I thought Event Horizon was up there for me.

Aliens, Event Horizon, The Descent, and 28 Days Later are at the top of my list. I love gore and horror in general but these movies give me an extreme case of the creeps and/or make me scream.

That's funny, London. I'm watching the Descent right now. Well it's been paused for about an hour...

I saw it a few years ago and didn't think it was scary at all. I'm giving it another chance.
