It's time to get serious here. I have to go back. Traversable wormholes are out, because with that it is only possible to go back as far as the initial creation time. Since it has not been created yet, I am not going to pursue this method because it will not help me go back far enough. We need a device that moves through time, rather than a path through time, since the technology itself can not go back.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I would tend to agree, but I wonder if in another 30 years we'd be saying the same thing. I mean, today we watch TV, go to the movies, and drive cars. They did that in the '50s.
But imagine being born in, say, 1905. You'd have seen the birth of the automobile, telephone for the masses, movies, TV. A whole lot changed compared to what it was like when you were born (along with the the Great Depression and two World Wars :().

There weren't as many "things" to buy back then.

There were plenty of things to buy back then! Didn't you ever read the old tables at Wendy's years ago? :ok:ok

I'd have to do what was said at the beginning of the thread. I'd go back and invest in such things as Microsoft, Yahoo, Apple, and I'd try to put myself in a position to make friendly with the Google boys.

I would have to say one of my first stops would be somewhere in the 60's to meet Frank Zappa at my age.

I don't get it.
Wendy's used to have old style newsprint printed all over their dining room tables:

... ya know, the whole "old fashioned hamburgers" thing they used to tout. I love Wendy's...

I don't get it.
Years ago, Wendy's restaurants had square tables that had turn of the century newspaper advertising on them. They were fascinating to read, and offered everything from corsets to elixirs of health.

Thanks. I should have known, I worked there in high school. I guess those tables were gone by then.

If they were there when I was in high school, they should have been there when you were, right? Perhaps it was a regional thing.

I'm older than you, so you're probably right about them being regional. You're closer to the original Wendy's location (Ohio) than I.

i'd either go back to the late 60's or choose to be born in '48 so that i'd be twenty or so when things in the U.S. got interesting (assuming i could dodge the draft!). dropping family paper, free love, and things to think about... :dft011:wicked_smile

Why would you want to dodge the draft? IMO, draft-dodgers are pieces of garbage.

me neither. i have a great respect for those soldiers (i have two friends in the marines), but personally i would never go into the military (even though every male in my family has been in war)

Trust me, Honda, you don't want wussy boys like me in your nation's army. Unless they have an iPhone division I'm unaware of, I would only be a detriment to any operation. :)
