I dont know if this problem has been posted before but i could not find it myself. Okay so here it is,

So my device Jailbreaks super easy, no problems what so ever, after the fact use is great, except when i try to reboot my phone, or it runs out of battery and turns off. Everytime that happens, and i turn it on, it goes into recovery mode.
Is there a fix? What to do?

HELP ME PLEASEEE!

if you got your iPhone recently then the jailbreaks will be tethered as of now, meaning you shouldnt let it completely drain,or power off and such

That's only supposed to affect the Touch, according to GeoHot.

via iClarified. (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=5566) For those with the new iPod touch, BlackRa1n only supports a tethered jailbreak. This means that once jailbroken you should not let your battery die. If it does die you will need to reconnect it to the computer and use BlackRa1n to boot it.

I'd appreciate knowing the real story.

If this is true for the iPhone, then the Blackra1n jailbreak is next to useless for a phone you rely on. Having it run low on battery and then having to find a PC/Mac to restore it will be a real pain.

What are you basing that on?

Can the latest iPhone bootrom be rebooted without losing jailbreak and needing to re-run blackra1n from a PC/Mac?

Anyone tried rebooting with a new iPhone with the updated bootrom jailbroken?

I suspect it's still the same. This means no installation of Cydia apps that require reboot to complete installation, which kind of makes the jailbreak only a partial success.

Is the dev team still working on a more complete solution to 3.1.2 jailbreak?

Ok, as far as I know, the latest Blackrain (blacksn0w) still only tether jailbreaks the latest bootrom - so if it runs out of battery you have to rejailbreak.

As far as I know, Geohot hasnt fixed that yet - may be wrong though

So what happens if you just reboot it? Or turn it off?

As far as I know, you loose your JB

But does it restart? Albeit without a jailbreak.
