VERY excited that this is now out in the App store today. I kid you not, I literally SCREAMED when I saw the main page this morning, lol. I have been desperately awaiting this, and even asked myself this morning when it would be available as it was announced a while back.

Well, the day has come, and now DOOM is officially out on the iPhone. It currently runs for $6.99 and includes all 4 episodes which is a total of 36 levels.

I bought it this morning. My wife and I played in cooperative mode for an hour or two. It's a great game.

I might wait for a price drop, lol but then again I may just buy it.

Evo, I saw this on Halloween - what a great day to release it! I picked up Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum for $1.99 and I will be picking up Doom soon. I'll give it a bit to see if the price drops because Wolfenstein used to be $6.99 also and then it dropped $5...

Looking very old-fashion!...but hey - it's the gameplay we're talking about here...:ok:ok

The graphics seem more polished and so as pixelated as the original. I'd like to do a video review of this but I'd rather wait for the price to drop.

All the original codes still work....Touch four fingers to the screen (in the corners before the map, options, fire and movement buttons) and an onscreen keyboard pops up. Enter your code and hit return....

God: iddqd

Give all idkfa

Those are the two I used most.

Enjoy,

My goodness, I remembered those codes, too! I just didn't know if there was a spot to put them in.

I don't need codes I'm good enough to beat it on my own :p

Here's a video demonstrating Doom gameplay. I'm not too fond of the directional arrow constantly moving with your every input

Yeah that's the critique I've seen mainly, evo. I think they should keep the setup they did for Wolfenstein. Same directional arrow, except it doesn't move on the screen.

I just finished playing the entire game and the controls grew on me after a bit.

Great game to have on my iPhone! Bring on Doom 2....

I'm hoping in the next update they fix the controls. I know Carmack is pretty good at fulfilling requests he reads in the reviews, so here's hoping he changes that.

This is a great news for me. I have been awaiting for this application since last august and now I am going to buy it for sure. I think the price of this one is quite cheap. People will like to buy it too.

The controls do take some getting used to, but once you have them down, you'll be mowing down the Barons of Hell in no time.

I have played pretty much every port of DOOM (even the choppy SNES version), and this is by far the best port you can get, besides an old DOS PC. The characters actually have their 8 way sprites (the enemies can turn around, walk away, shoot other enemies, etc), instead of always facing your direction. Well worth a purchase, and it is bringing back some classic memories.
