Starting to Lose my mind

Every since I got this phone I have been obsessed with keeping the screen clean, now every 5 minutes I have to wipe the screen to get off all the finger prints, even if I'm still using the phone afterwards. I swear to god I'm starting to go mental here :foot:

haha you aint the only one.. man I do the same I clean it like crazy and then 2 minutes later I will use it and have to clean it again... I bought a skin to have less fingerprints i hear that helps llol

I have the crystal screen protector on they sell at apple and yes it does show less fingerprints than without, but they still show up and cause me to clean the screen.
And this isnt helping since I already have OCD when it comes to other things, great heres another one :frown:

That would be correct, they just show up as smudges and not clearly defined finger prints, lol.
And when you buy one go to the apple store and ask to use thier "Apple Polish" before you put the cover on, that stuff gets the screen so clean its insane.

LOL...Glad to know that I'm not alone! I hate the fingerprints as well. I clean my screen once or twice a day depending on how busy I am.

They just let me use it at both apple stores I've gone to. They have a huge bottle of it behind the counter with a blue cloth. Just ask if they have some you can use and they'll just hand it to you!

Theres only one solution, de-grease your fingers with supa strangth soft. You can kiss soft hands good bye.

They sell it because today when I was the apple store, I asked the guy for some screen cleaner and he asked if I wanted to buy a bottle or just use thiers.

I clean it with the cloth that came with the phone, I leave it in my wallet, lol. Works good for me.

The stuff at the store is "iKlear".

The big blue cloth comes with the kit (as well as a small blue cloth, a bottle of mild cleaner, some cleaning packets, etc).

What's in the bottle at the store may or may not be iKlear solution though, I was told when I use up the solution, just fill it with water.

The key is keeping the cloth clean... once you get the cloth filled with oils, then water + the cloth won't work as well.


I've got microfiber clothes all over the place nowadays, and microfiber bags for anything that needs cleaning (glasses, sunglasses, iPhone). I recommend starting a collection of strategically placed clothes as the best way to keep the iPhone clean.

I just round them up when I do laundry, and toss them in with the clothes so they don't get too dirty over time.

the cool thing is though if you aren't like paying attnetion to the fingerprints, the screen is so bright they are impossible to see, like the only time u see them is if the phone is sleeping or if you are really looking for them

it's called iKlear. It is amazing, used on the space shuttle and space station. it cleans surfaces like there is no tomorrow!

I clean my glasses and with the spray on the cloth already, I wipe down the whole phone, this includes removing the rubber case as well. I obssess about putting the phone back in the case with out touching it with my fingers. A large cloth helps for that

Wow, I thought I was the only one with iPhonaphobia(I'm copyrighting that, lol). My wife could care less she only wipes her screen like twice a day. I've cleaned my screen three times already while typing this message! And I'm not even using the phone. j/k

i only wipe (clean) my screen or phone once a day, that is when I get home from work. The more you clean the screen or phone the more chances are to scratch the phone, besides there's no point to clean it so many times when you know you are gonna use it later and it will gets dirty again right after:smile:

I wipe mine constantly aswell. I noticed since my wife sudgested it, Purell Hand Sanitizer stuff works well. I been cleaning my hands with it alot between using my phone. It seems to remove alot of oils from my hands. So my screen doesn't get nearly as smudged up now.

I clean mine on my pants or shirt, just I would glasses since it's optical quality glass which would take a great deal to scratch. I do wipe it once a day or so with the cloth when I can. Don't go crazy trying to keep fingerprints off. It's touch screen it's always gonna have fingerprints :smile:

Yeah its always gunna have prints but gets the point where you wanna keep the phone lookin pretty lol so you constantly wipe and wipe

I am going to try today not to clean the phone as much, lol. Have to break this habit before I go to the loonet bin :foot:
