When you jailbreak your phone, what is the best software to download for apps? Cydia or Rock?

I personally use both. Cydia is the man! But Rock seems to be leaner and has a landscape screen orientation option. Again I use both and have had no problems with either.

Thats cool.... I will install both... why do you use both? Is it because they both have different apps?

I just tried Rock and noticed the landscape thing. It also seems to load faster and so I actually use it most of the time now.

Before 3.1.2 I always used Cyidia however after, Cyidia seems to cause a range of other programs to stop working/crash so I went to Rock which I now prefer.

I will never use Rock.
Rock isn't interested in helping the community. They have done nothing for the community.

LOL, there are too many reasons to jailbreak!
Back on topic, Cydia works just fine for me on 3.1.2

kapolani has a good point. Jay Freeman has done an enormous amount of work for the iPhone community. There is nothing wrong with Cydia and I'd rather back a developer that gives back to the community rather than a company trying to cash in on some very minimal shortcomings.

Thank you.
They cherry pick apps without giving back to the community. The only free application is Clippy, which they had to make free when Apple gave us Copy/Paste. So this is an entirely commercial endeavor and not the least bit interested in helping the community.
They basically are getting rewarded by the hard work of people like Saurik and Dev Team.
You have to support people like Saurik. He even made sure people would get their signature files from Apple through Cydia. Did he charge for that? Can you picture RYP doing that?

No doubt Rock would charge for almost anything they could. I've since uninstalled this application, despite how "nice" it may look.

From Twitter:
cydiaupdates (http://twitter.com/cydiaupdates)
Those who use RockApp instead of Cydia! Reports say RYP doesnt install v0.9.3072 of MobileSubstrate.
corrupt installations are occuring...
This kind of stuff.

I like and use Cydia, but the interface is kinda old fashion compare to AppStore and Rock!

If I can install intelliscreen from Cydia, then why am I purchasing it from Rock? I can't figure that out for the life of me how to purchase it from Cydia instead.

You can purchase cydia items by clicking on the Cydia store, from the main page. However, Intelliscreen can only be activated using Rock. Downloading it through Cydia just downloads the rock app for activation
