It's strange I haven't seen a thread for this yet. Is anyone dressing up this year? I am. I'm not "trick-or-treat"-ing but I am going to a grown-up Halloween Party. I'll post a picture of my outfit when I'm dressed up. But I'm going as a Doctor... I know original, right?! But I didn't have long to put it together.
What about you guys?

The wife and I are hitting a music festival at a friend's orchard in Doylestown. We'll be camping in said orchard, ideally quite drunk. Should be fun!
We're always really lazy when it comes to costumes, though. This year we're throwing together some Hawaiian shirts, leis, grass skirts, coconut bra (for her), and wings.... we'll be Flyin' Hawaiians! :ok:ok

I am stealing my costume from The Office. I am going to write book on my face and wear a blue shirt with Wall written on it and a box to write in and a wall post from my friend that says happy halloween. :)
In case you still don't get it, I am going to be Facebook.

One of these years when I get my act together, I'm going with a buddy as these guys:

My friend did it once and he actually carried around a bowl of peanuts in the box, which he offered to all party goers. Needless to say, it was a hit. Totally stealin' it.

My buddy did this and went and bought a huge dildo to but in the box. It was pretty funny and a big hit. All the chicks were grabbing it.

I'm not sure why Frank's name says Cyrus on this picture however.

Someone please say they know what this costume is! We went to a Halloween party and no one knew what I was (aside from some sort of nurse), including the teenagers there. It was quite depressing.

YES! Gold star for you!
I was so surprised that no one at all at the party knew what I was. They just thought I was an evil zombie nurse. I questioned every teenage boy at the party and they had no idea, even though they're all gamers. So lame.

Thanks!
I ended up being a little too clean - forgot to blood spatter and dirty up the nurse's cap and I didn't put the blue veins on my legs, but it worked out as I'd hoped for the most part.
The movie isn't all that great, but it does a decent job of capturing the game's feel visually. This is the best scene with the nurses in it:

That is indeed an excellent scene - the best in that movie, IMHO. The one where she first sees Pyramid Head is a close second.
I did mimic their movements, but stopped once I realized no one was getting it at the party. :(

Well, I agree with macgirl, the movie as a whole isn't all that great. Even the critics were confused. I think a lot of game based movies are that way. I liked it a lot and looked past the plot holes, because I really liked the special effects and theme. That's something I rarely do.

That is sad. If I had been at that party, I would have went nuts the second you walked in the door.
BTW, I got TomTom working perfectly with flawless music playback and it now cuts the music for turn by turn directions through my car speakers. Putting the head unit in Passenger Control Mode prevents the "accessory connected" screen and allows you to control the music from the iPhone or from the head unit. I'm not sure if it was 3.1.2 or Passenger Control mode, but I'm just happy it's finally working right. :)
Did you ever figure out how to get yours out of "accessory connected" mode? I have to push and hold the mode button on the deck for 2 seconds. It should stay in that mode until I disconnect the battery.
Also, where did you get the iPhone case? I want that for next Halloween.

Nice job on the TomTom/iPhone car integration! Nope, haven't figured how to get it out of accessory connected mode yet. :( I did get a longer connection cable and a new ProClip mount to install and will be working on it shortly, though.
Which iPhone case? The one in my costume pic above? If so, that's just a Gelaskins skin (https://www.gelaskins.com/image.php?ImageID=220). I did get a cute demon case from Ideal-Case (http://www.ideal-case.com/iphone-3g/silicone-case/damon.html) which is very Halloweenish if that's what you had in mind. :)

I guess I was really using my imagination there, it looked like blood spatter next to your costume. Now I see it's just a girly case. ;) I still like though.
Take a look through the manual, it should show how to get it into Passenger Control Mode, if it's possible to do that on your deck.

Found it through an ad on a cosplay forum - a guy in Chicago makes them. It was a little pricey ($60) but it was the main part of the costume, so it was worth it.

Thanks! Yeah, I have the game but I haven't played it all that much. I am tempted to get the latest Xbox version of it, though. Silent Hill has been the only video game so far to really creep me out for some reason.

Thank you for the compliment (you don't sound creepy ;) ). I had my husband take a couple of pictures with my DSLR, but I haven't transferred them to my computer yet. If they came out good, I may post them on my Facebook page.

A blood spattered iPhone would have been an excellent prop. I should have thought of that!
No passenger mode on my stereo - it's the stock stereo connected to a factory iPod kit. :( I have found that I can work around the limitation a little by starting an album or song I want to hear before connecting my iPhone to it - for some reason, it just picks up playing where I started it even if it's not in one of the special playlists that the kit is restricted to reading.
Mac girl... my what a body you have.:ok:ok:dft012:wink

To this day, Goldeneye is the only FPS that I can play without getting nauseated. I know things have gotten even smoother with regards to rendering, but something about the physics of that game just worked for me. Seriously can't play any others.
I really wish they'd bring it out for classic console on the Wii, but I've heard they have a licensing snafu that is all but insurmountable at this point.
