I've recently tried few applications related with outdoor sports, many are just small apps from young developers, too simple, some are known just because of publicity and image (censored! :dft011:wicked_smile), then I found EasyTrails GPS (http://www.easytrailsgps.com)...

here are few notes that I took, just changing a bit another review :dft003:coolkid

It's really the perfect application for outdoor athletes and everybody willing to track their activities. Whenever you are trekking, running, skiing, sailing, traveling or just wandering around, it's just useful and fun!

EasyTrails GPS (http://www.easytrailsgps.com) can tell you how far, how fast and how long you ran... and much more! It also displays the elevation profile and your track on the map in a street/satellite/hybrid fashion. The results can be stored, so it is very easy to retrieve them at any time.

Also, tracks can be exported to a computer to be used with GPS software or shared with others. The app exports your tracks in standard formats (GPX, KML/KMZ and CSV) and can be used with a variety of GPS software including Google Maps, Google Earth, SportTracks (Windows), TrailRunner (Mac) or online services such as Garmin Connect or everyTrail.com.

Version 2.0 (http://www.easytrailsgps.com) can also import tracks through an advanced and easy-to-use "sharing service", which is the flagship of this new version. Import and export tracks has never been easier!

EasyTrails GPS is reliable and accurate. The user interface is very straightforward and navigation is made easier with essential menu items. Besides, the chance to record even while the iPhone is on standby ensures the maximum battery life.

Key features:
* Export tracks (GPX, KML/KMZ and CSV).
* Import tracks (GPX).
* Show real-time distance, speed, altitude and much more.
* No limit on length or time for tracks.
* Up to 200 tracks.
* Select between metric or imperial measuring system.
* Maps (street map/satellite/hybrid).
* Charts (elevation profiles, ...).
* Intuitive user interface.
* Lightweight, reliable and accurate.
* Record while the iPhone is on standby.
* Languages: English, Italian, French and Portuguese.

i am doing some experiments with the lite version... seems quite nice!

only point is the limitation on saving tracks... guess iŽll get the full version! also the price is quite cheap

when i get the full version, do i need to pay again for uploading new versions?

Hi Lucy,
yes, the limitation in the number of tracks saved is only for the free version, as I see in their website. Of course, all the updates in AppStore are free, you will be notified in iTunes when an app is updated! :ok:ok

Yesterday the version 2.1 was published in AppStore (http://itunes.com/apps/easytrailsgps), seems it's even better with battery duration, but actually I've seen not so big changes... this is a problem of iPhone, let's hope that Apple will move towards telephones that has to be charged less times a week, instead of faster and faster iPhones!

Seems also that there are screenshots of tutorials of the app (for me it's so simple that seems a nonsense, but can clarify better how to use together with other OpenSource software, or with some free online services), I put here some screenshots, as I haven't yet found the full tutorial in Google...

Anyway it's easier than all the others and gives quite professional functions...

Yes, this app is really my preferred, 5 stars!!!

I've tried many other GPS trackers 4 iPhone, but for mountain trekking this is surely the best, no comparison with other non-professional apps!

Looking fine, but remember to post these apps here (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone-app-store/) next time - this forum section is for developers...:dft012:wink

oh, finally I found some thread that can answer me... I've EasyTrails GPS, version 2.1, and I've compared with many others, as I said above, it's the best, very good work!

the point is, I've seen some screenshots in the web, speaking about direct exporting from easytrails to everytrail.com, a free service in internet to host and share trails... how should I do to DIRECTLY send them? have I to change something in the settings? It's a small thing but I cannot see how to do.

and.... compliments, it's 5 stars app!!!
