If I hook up to a wireless network at work or a public place, is it possible for people to "track" or monitor my activity or, later, see where I have been?

Absolutely, 100% yes they can. Whether they do or not is the real question.

my bfs neighbor use to use his wii on his wifi all the time before i put a lock on it. he would just go onto his computer and kick it off the network.
