First, this is my first post here, so, "Greetings," and I have a question...
I would like to catagorize all my apps and webpages in folders so I don't have to go through pages and pages of apps. Is there a way to drop apps into separate folders like "Games" and "Utilities" etc without jailbreaking?
I do not want to jailbreak my phone and everywhere I look says to Jailbreak and then use Cydia or Catagories.
Is thefe a way to "catagorize" my apps into separate folders without jailbreaking? And if not... why the heck not?
Thanks

Not apart from just using separate pages.
As for why not... Who knows. Apple probably thinks spotlight is sufficient.

This one is "the never ending story"!
Since the iPhone came out, users has been literally screaming at Apple to change their background, icons, make folders for photos or applications etc.
Apple wont let you and me to "mess up" their OS...:dft012:wink
...That's why I'm a JB'er today!

JB'ing is painless and effortless process and you dont lose any original functionality, only gain new features.
I would say JB and use categories. If you dont want to, then just use spotlight, that saves you looking through pages and pages of apps.

Well... I gotta tell you that it sucks. It seems like it would be an "easy" upgrade for Apple to make, and you'd think they would do anything to discourage jailbreaking. Especially something this simple.
And I'm scared to jailbreak.

It is kinda odd that if they would allow just a few basic services jailbreakers would really decrease and the Droid commercial would have never been.

Lockscreen info

but it the meantime just screw em and jailbreak. They aren't worried about loyality so something better comes along I'm gone. It just not the same love relationship I had with Palm.

It's "easy" to jailbreak. Break the communist hold and free your iPhone to do what millions of others have already done. Worst case scenario, you restore back to factory settings.

Apple doesn't have to worry about loyalty when they have such a large share of the phone market. I don't understand the reason for not having certain jailbreak features but oh well. If the Nokia N97 had a faster processor and more RAM I would get it in a heartbeat. As long as I can jailbreak I am happy with the iPhone for now. It will make a great IPT...one day. :dft011:wicked_smile

Now that's a great idea that I haven't thought of.:dft010:smiling At some point in time maybe even when my contract is up and I go with a different phone, will I just have to remove the sim card and put the iphone into airplane mode and then turn wifi on for it to do everything an iphone does except for phone calls and text messages? Sorry for long run on sentence. It's early.
