Recent Jailbreak on new 3gs

Noob,

I just received my 3gs Yesterday and it came with 3.1 Here is what I did to have a succesful Jailbreak.

1. updated to newest Itunes
2. updated phone to 3.1.2
3. Downloaded and installed Blackra1n RC2
4. Start/ Run/ Msconfig and disabled all in startup so nothing is running in the background
5. Re-started computer
6. Run Blackrain
7. Turn off phone
8. Click Make it Rain
9. Connect Phone and hlod down power key and Home key
10. Once you see the Apple Logo let go of power while continuing to hold down home key
11. Once you see GeoHot let off of the home key and that is it.
12. After IPhone reboots BlackRa1n is on your Spring Board. NICE!!!!

Good Luck! Took only 5 minutes no problems to report of yet.:ok:ok

Thanks! I though I would put up the entire process. I think kiliing all other apps in the background helped, as I kept seeing other posts where people would goto task manager and quit certain items. Glad it worked though, Phew!

Glad it works good. with mine i just downloaded the program and ran it and killed itunes whenever it tried to pop up. Worked fine and only took a couple min.

Don't need to do all that with the 3gs. The JB should work by just clicking on let it ra1n and that's all you have to do. The problems were for the 3g but were supposidly fixed with RC2.
