is there a way to record a conversation on the iphone?

im pretty sure you would have to jailbreak. if you do in cydia there is an app called spoofapp that records phone calls.

I agree. There are some jailbreak apps that will let you record for free but only to a certain time limit unless you purchase "time." With Recorder, you pay $0.99 for the application itself and you need to purchase credit to record your calls. It's like $2 for 60 minutes to record. It's not bad if it's something critical you need to record.

Thanks so much. yep, i knew there would be some sort of law. I am just enquiring on behalf of my sister in Australia. The link had the law for their too.

Spoofapp is a good one but its illegal though to record a phone call conversation without the other party knowing you are recording.

That's true. I was too lazy to write down a recipe, so I recorded my sister reading one and was sent to prison for a year.

In some states, not all though. It's perfectly legal throughout most of the US.
