I tried it at the Apple store last Saturday. I like it. It takes a little getting used to, and it feels weird in your hand since its not as curved to fit your palm. The gestures feel weird at first but seem like they will become natural over time.

i will pick one up as soon as i see one. i don't foresee keeping it as i don't think the gestures are customizable enough, but we'll see. I am also concerned that it is too flat, and may cramp my hand after a few hours of use.

I'm ordering one tomorrow. The damn little scroll ball on the mighty mouse is killin me! Never scrolls down. I have to clean the bejesus out of it to get it to work half the time.

I went by one of my local Apple stores today and they didn't have any in as of yet. I'll just check back sometime later in the week. I did get to use a floor model and liked it quite a bit.

i like it, definitely like it better than the mighty mouse, however I don't know that I like the form of it all that much. It's great for scrolling on web pages but I kinda find it more gimmick than anything else. I'll probably end up getting something from logitech at some point.

I think I'm definitely going to miss the buttons on the side for the quick and easy Exposé but other than that I'm liking it.

I like it! Different and sleek. not touchy. a bit heavy and somewhat a slow reaction time. Def better than the ball/ Mighty Mouse

Yeah I am really excited about getting the mouse with my new computer here in about week. Also one more question one of you guys might know the answer does the wireless keyboard that comes with the 21.5 iMac does that have the USB ports on the side of the keyboard?

All the reviews I have read support what Hondamaker said about having to clean it excessively. Keep us informed as to all of your experiences once you get some hours on the mouse. Thanks

I think Honda was referring to the little ball of the previous mighty mouse. The magic mouse shouldn't require much cleaning at all.

The more I use it, the more I get used to it, the more I like it. especially for browsing.

Awesome I will keep everyone informed once I pick it up. I am shooting for next Friday to get and pick it up.

I'm very particular when it comes to mice. This one looks like it would cause me great pain to use. I'll get one by default with my next Mac, but passing on purchasing it by it's lonesome. Love my Logitech MX 1000. Just now warming up to MX 1100. Did not like the Logitech Revolution. I experienced wrist pain within the first hour or so of usage.

I was able to get the Magic Mouse today from Apple but I've already run into a few problems. For one, the scrolling doesn't work, at all. It said that until 10.6.2 is released that variable scrolling wouldn't be available, but I have none at all. Nor do I have the other capabilities such as swiping or zooming.

Sounds like you got a bad one. Send it back, let us know when you get a replacement. :ok:ok

Fedex delivered my magic mouse about an hour ago and all I have is the left and right click functions. There is no scrolling whatsoever. I click on settings-mouse and only have the tracking speed and double click speed. It is recognized as an apple wireless mouse. If I plug the wired mouse in then it adds the scrolling speed adjustment as well.

I clicked on software updates and there are 2, one for itunes to 9.0.2 and one for the wireless mouse. But it keeps saying that my user name/password are incorrect. I opened itunes and downloaded an app and it sure took my user name/password for that. I've tried this several times and rebooted 3 times as well. Any ideas?:dft006:unhappy

After messing around with the mouse a bit last night I finally got it work after having the same problems you're having. Make sure that you go into the BlueTooth options and that it says Connected to the MagicMouse. Once it is connected, restart the computer and then you should be able to do the software update. I was able to do it on mine after getting a, "You must run OS X 10.6.2 or higher" for about 10 tries.

After another restart upon installing the update I got the scrolling and everything to work just fine.

It was my fault as I was putting in my itunes password and not my imac password.

So I shut the mac down and removed the regular mouse. Then I switched the magic mouse on and turned the mac on. Upon bootup the bluetooth box opened asking about a new device, found it, and paired with it. I clicked on settings and mouse and still no scroll so I clicked on software updates and it found a wireless mouse update. I installed and restarted and now I have scroll.

I had surgery Monday and am pretty tired so it's nap time. I'll try to report back on how I like it later.

I love the one finger flick for scroll, it's very smooth. I haven't figured out the zoom or side to side flicking yet so I'll watch the video again. I can press down anywhere on the left side for a left mouse click but it seems harder to press on the crown or even the back of the mouse where the hand usually rests so I imaging I'll keep clicking where I always have. So far it's a nice wireless mouse, $69 nice, the jury is still out!:dft012:wink

Yeah I am really loving the new Magic mouse I am still trying to get used to it right now its actually a little heavier than what I had originally thought.

just picked one up tonight. My feeling is the tech has great potential, but needs to develop more. I was hoping more for an iphone-like interface with my computer (i.e. pinch zooming in Safari and Finder), as well as the other gestures used on the macbook trackpads (like 4-finger swipes for expose). The scrolling is very nice.

Also, none of the touch gestures work in bootcamp.

So as it is now, there's just no way i can give up my Logitech MX1000 for it, but hopefully with future software updates, they may be able to add more functionality or customizeability.

I haven't tried the MX1000 so I don't know but I do know, I love this mouse! Pretty much all I use it for is scrolling and clicking. I haven't gotten into the zooming or side to side flicking pages stuff so I'm just using it as a basic mouse. It is also the coolest looking mouse on this planet!:dft003:coolkid
