Gmail & Contact Confusion

My contacts are simultaneously updated to my iPhone via Gmail. Does anyone know why my Caller ID pics and unique Caller Specified Ringtones return to default sporadically causing me to have to reset often?

The pics return to the smaller upper right corner image vs the large full screen image which I prefer when a call comes in. The saved ringtones revert back to the default ringer. After reset, I am only good for a few days, and then they revert. Is there a fix for this?

Are you pushing your contacts via gmail to your phone? Usually this happens when the server loses a connection with your phone and reloads them to the phone. Since it doesn't recognize the ringtones in gmail it doesn't save them. It will save the pics though. The only time I have lost the ringtones is when I have had to re-load my email account.

Either Gmail pushes them to my phone or my phone pulls them from Gmail. I am not certain which one? The pics remain, they just are reduced to the upper right corner.

Hmm, like I said, mine only went to default ringer when I had to reset my email set up on the phone. I have gmail push set up and it's been working fine for me. Sorry, wish I could help more.

When I set mine up with gmail I could not see all the older numbers from a previous phone that were labelled 'main'. I started going through my list and changing the phone types and after 1.5 hours I made it to the B's.
I use gmail and outlook purely as a backup of my contacts for now until it gets figured out.
