Restore error code 13 and back to apple?

I have a 3gs 16 meg that was jail broken with blackrain running 3.1.2. It started acting up two days ago and would not sync don't remember the error code on that but one said some about not be able to write to the disk. I decided to do a restore to factory 3.1.2. I keep getting error code 13 and it will not complete the restore.

I have tried this on my MAC and my windows desktop same error code. I have tried regular restore and in dfu mode. I think I will need to take it back to Apple. Will Apple be able to tell this was jail broken. When I am able to see the phone in itunes it shows the name as Iphone, capacity, software and serial show as NA.

I have heard of error 13 only once before, and the person tried restoring and DFU restore, neither worked. However, a simple hard reset worked.

Try that, if that doesnt work, turn off your phone. Unplug it from your computer. Have itunes loaded up. Now, whilst holding down the home button, plug it into iTunes and see if it gives you the restore option.

Failing that, if the phone is in no way turning on, then the Apple store staff probably will just replace it. If they manage to switch it on however, you will be screwed.

Thanks for the reply I have done a couple of hard resets. Most of the time it comes up with the itunes and usb screen sometimes it comes up just the apple. Either way I get error 13 and sometimes 2005.

It turns on but boots to the usb and itunes screen, it failed during the prep to restore so hopefully is wipe it first.

I was able t restore to 3.1.2 but still getting a can not read disk error when it tries to sync. So I did a restore again and now getting another error 2005.

Well at least i got the jail break off so I will go to apple tonight and have them look.
