Decisions.... AGH! [Help me]

So most of you may know that I bought my first iMac this past Friday [10-23-09] and I am loving it. I only have one small little problem I purchased the computer from my local best buy and I researched it real good and even called into the store before I went and picked it up the lady there told me that they had 3 in stock [20" iMac 2.66Ghz] not the new ones but the previous models. I said okay great I will be there soon to come and pick one up. I get there and they don't even have any except for the floor model. I sacrificed for that because I really wanted one so I purchased that one. They never gave me any restore disks, no password for the computer, left the demo version of the computer on it, iLife was never on the computer. I also never received a box with my purchase. I really like the computer and I finally got it running right but I have question to ask you guys and you tell me what makes more sense. I spoke with the store manager and he told me they don't have any of the specific model that I have "NEW" to replace it with. He did however say they received the new 21.5" models in from what I spent that Friday I could go back in and pick up the new new one for a difference of about 200.00 bucks. So what do you guys think I should do? I just feel like I spent over a thousand already why not just go all out and get one that isn't already out dated ? What do you guys think I'm crazy or go for it!

if you have the money then go for the new one. if you're gonna use money, don't waste it on something used or outdated. you'd want a kick *** machine and not a piece of junk. that's my two cents :D

Yeah and that's what I'm saying I really have been wanting an apple iMac and I finally got one and I really like it but I'm sure I will like the "New" ones even better. Can anyone please tell me me if the display on the new iMac's is better than the previous models? I think the 20" iMac display that I have right now is gorgeous but I guess I haven't seen anything yet.

go for it. i did that for a sony laptop and that was a big mistake. it was more trouble than what its worth. plus, you'll be really happy with the new Mac. trust me its worth it.

what? a best buy display computer? or the new iMac? either way i have/had both. I bought a Sony Display laptop. I took it back and got a new never been open Gateway. I just bought an iMac at Best Buy. Never been open. love'n it. :)

ha i'm like you I cant really tell you the difference because this is my first iMac. But to be honest I'm glad I bought the new one. The screen is absolutely beautiful! hands down!! I do like the wide screen also...just seems more of it. and yeah i have the 21.5 screen. thought hard about the 27" but no regrets... :D

didn't i answer at least the first one for you? the speed? well, each new apple model is faster than the previous. that's the main thing they try to upgrade and then they try to figure out some new features. pretty soon we're going to have 3d conversations just like in bill and ted FTW!!!!

I'd definitely go for it as well. Also since you didn't receive any DVDs with the computer, I mean you should receive them by default (Mac OSX DVD 1 & 2).

Yeah I know and Best Buy told me that they could not find them. It's ok I am going back on Friday Nov. 6th when my 14 days on this one runs out and I am going to pick up a new one. Hopefully they will have them the guy said they have 10 right now and 2 more trucks on the way hopefully they won't sell them that quick. At least I hope not.

I'm not an expert on prices but I'm sure apple will charge more if you buy straight from them.

My uncle travels in and out of the states all the time, he gets bits and pieces from Best Buy all the time. I think they should move a couple of there shops over to the UK.

I have a best buy credit card that's why. I usually don't share my credit score but I find it pretty ridiculous that best buy approves me for like 2,000 dollars and Apple denies me and won't give me anything? How can this be I have like a score of 710 or something along those lines. I have maybe had one late bill/payment in my life (I am only 22 so that's only 4 years but still) I would have bought at Apple store but I applied for there credit card and they said "We cannot approve you at this time" I only used 800 on my Best Buy card and paid for the rest in cash.:dft003:coolkid

@ipw yes you're correct too. apple tends to charge a lot more for anything they have in the store AND they try to sell more than what you really need/want. at least that's how i feel about it.

Naw it's cool I have all the loot together its just trying to find time to drive all the way to best buy to go and pick it up and since I still have this 20" model I am still playing around getting to know Mac OS X so I am really in no rush and I think the best buy I shop at is still waiting on there truck to come in with the new iMac's they told me they got some in and sold out real quick but they have 100 of them on order so I will just probably wait until that truck comes in and then make my way down there.
