ok heres what happened:

I try to update my iphone to OS 3 or something, the first time i tried failed saying something about the register or w/e

then the second time i tried it just went to that screen, i tried to plug my iphone to itunes but itunes keep saying its not regonized, so i tried to reset to factory setting (i think that means like back to the old os 2 version) and it still doesnt work

need help plz and fast!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you want to jailbreak? i would say go to the dev team site and get pwanagetool 3.1.4 and the ORIGINAL firmware. run pwanagetool and follow the onscreen instructions. it's relatively easy. and then to unlock the phone get ultrasn0w through cydia. can you handle that?

whats jailbreak or frimware?

jailbreak is to make it do stuff that apple restricts. i don't suggest you doing that at this point because you seem like you don't know much(no offense) and you'd lose all tech support from apple if you jailbreak.

firmware is the os

hmmm so i think i know where my problem is now, because i am using iphone 2g (i think) but i download OS3 so my iphone is literally ****ed

but ummm i kinda cant open the pwanagetool 3.1.4 DMG file, and i found something call dmg2iso but it wont work, is it only for mac?

and 1 more thing, i am sorry but i am really noob, cause i just got iphone and i wanted to use it, when i use itunes to connect i am really noob and it tells me to update, getting my iphone ****ed and after i jail break i can still get the apps, sync but just not the tech support?

edit: i just need to use the iphone cause i cant do anything with it now, ever since i got tricked to update it it becomes like that and itunes wont regonize it

what carrier do you use? is it at&t?

okay, you won't be able to use it unless you have a service, unless you jailbreak. hmmm... you would need to get pwangetool 3.1.4. do you have a mac or pc?

2-download the firmware (looking for it now)
3-run pwanagetool (follow on screen instructions)
4-do a special restore (command+click. find the custom file pwanagetool made for you)

5-presto!

when i right click the iphone icon in the left side it just got "exit" option

if it doesn't work. make sure itunes is updated and enter restore mode-

turn off device
press and hold both power and home buttons
when it turns on, let go of power button, but keep holding home until itunes recognizes that it's in restore mode.
