I just saw this movie last night, finally. Honestly, it was just OK for me. If it weren't for Micah's horrible acting it would've been a lot more believable.

Katie's acting was on point. She made it believable. Micah just seemed like he couldn't act for sh!t and really killed the entire mood that Katie set, IMO.

I thought the actor who portrayed Micah did a good job. I wanted to facepalm his character several times, but he did a good job.

I have to agree with you KabaModern. I really wanted this movie to be great and scary, but for me it just wasn't. I know others on this post will disagree, but we all have our own personal tastes.

i agree with both of you to an extent. is this the scariest movie ever so far? heck no!!!! but so far this year it is.

I thought Micah Sloat did a great job! This was his first movie btw. He was likable and his relationship with Katie was believable. The character was a little brash, taunting the demon all the time, but I thought he played the role well.

i think the way he acted made the movie even more realistic because some people at first don't believe it so they taunt it[the demon], but if you taunt it it's just gonna get mad and return the "playing around", but not the way you'd like it.

You can clearly tell it was his first movie. Katie should be recognized for her good acting, not that dbag.

Hmm. I'm a bit torn. I liked the theatrical ending but it was definitely sensational because it had to be. The original ending is good too but I don't think it would have worked as well for the masses.

The acting was great. They conveyed just what they needed to convey to make the movie seem like the real deal.

I watched the screener I got of PA. Watch it on a big TV, surround sound, lights off, at night time, with your girlfriend and some food/drinks. You'll have just about the same effect, except you won't have the group of 16 year old girls screaming behind you at every little sound.

IMO, I would have been pissed if I paid $20 for two people to go see it. But, that's just me. There are people here (cough, evo, cough, Europa) that will tell you it's God's gift to the Horror genre. I, politely, and whole-heatedly, disagree. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it. Let's just say that. :)

Way to bash the $15,000 movie, Kaba. I'm sure you could have done much better on that budget and even found a Brad Pitt caliber actor to do it pro bono. It was a breath of fresh air from the boring, story lacking, dead horse beating, special effects laden, crap that Hollywood pumps out Halloween after Halloween.

Hey hey. I never said I could do any better. All I'm saying is for a movie that is becoming so popular right now, it just wouldn't have been worth it to me. Props for getting so many people to like it, but it was bland. I'm all for a good story if it's portrayed well. This movie is a good story. But horribly executed one at that...

Back on topic. I really can't decide which ending I liked more. I think I liked the original more than Spielberg's, but slightly.
