App Back-Up Question

Ok, i recently switched from windows vista to windows 7. when i plugged my phone in on windows 7, it goes through the typical syncing process and all, but heres my problem:

I have a ton of apps on my iphone 3gs. When I click to sync apps, none of my apps are in the list on itunes. I could re-download them all, yes, but that is a huge pain in the ass considering I have 3-4 pages of apps. Also, re-downloading will loose all the saved data for all of the games and stuff. Everytime I try to sync it says it will remove them all, which in return will delete all the saved info.

How can I get my computer to download the apps like it used to from my iphone to my computer so that I can properly sync them?

I have tried hunting for where they were saved on vista and placing them in the appropriate location on windows 7, but cant find anything to help with that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you authorized that computer for your itunes account? I'm not sure but upgrading to Windows 7 may require you to reauthorize your PC. If so then this is a simple fix.:dft012:wink

These files are stored in this location: (You'll have to show hidden files in the Windows Explorer!)

C:/User/"Your name.."/Appdata/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Mobile Applications

Copy all these apps to a place where you're making backup - or USB memory key.

After installing the new Windows 7, you just put these back in the same folder!

Connect your phone to iTunes, click FILE in the upper left-hand corner and choose TRANSFER PURCHASES FROM IPHONE...you may have to authorize that particular computer, if you have not done so already, and maybe even logon to your account through iTunes, but this transfer method will take all the Apps from your phone and place them into iTunes...
